The firm will sponsor a young player aged between eight and 14 to take part in the World Othello Championships in Japan via a national competition.
John Adams is offering young fans of the game Othello the chance to head to Japan to compete in the Junior Othello World Championships.
In a drive to recruit more young players into the world of Othello playing, the toy firm is offering sponsorship to a young player aged between eight and 14 via a national competition.
The competition challenges players to complete an Othello puzzle by stating what their next move would be on a mocked up board and why. Those who demonstrate the best strategic thinking in their entry will be shortlisted into a semi-final.
The best player will then go on to attend the Junior Othello World Championship event taking place in Mito, Japan between November 1st and 4th this year.
John Adam’s campaign will be promoted via an advert in the National Geographic Kids magazine as well as a number of MPUs on the National Geographic Kids website.
“We are really excited to be able to sponsor a young player to go to the Junior Othello World Championships,” said Lynette Norris, marketing manager at John Adams Leisure.
“Othello is simple to learn but it can take a while to master, so by encouraging young players to take up the game, we may uncover a future World Champion.”
