Glamorous Nails and Beauty on Cavendish Street has had fresh life breathed into the salon thanks to an exciting new retrofit lighting project carried out by Marl International.

Partners Laura Williams and Amy Howden came together, joined by Lisa Thompson and beautician Zoe Davey, to launch a new collaborative venture at the premises, which has been made to look even more appealing to customers with new, more natural lighting, the North-West Evening Mail reported.

The new fittings were essential for this particular business as the close-up, intricate practice of nail and beauty professionals requires a high quality of light so that their eyes are not strained while they work. An even distribution of light was also fundamental so that the entire parlour was well-lit for various treatments taking place in different areas of the salon.

Arianna Rawlinson, marketing manager at Marl International, said: "We advised them to use the flat panels because they create a natural light effect which is really important for your eyesight if you work in a shop all day."

Illustrating just how effective the new lights are is the fact that the salon had invested in desk lamps for each station but is now returning them because the new fittings provide a high enough quality of light on their own.

However, not only has the quality of light been transformed by the new retrofit project, but the salon can also expect to see its energy bills slashed as each new panel produces the equivalent amount of light to that from four fluorescent tubes - while consuming just half of the power.

Furthermore, facilitating their maintenance will be far less problematic as each LED panel boasts a longevity of 50,000 hours before it will need to be replaced, so beauticians can go about their work safe in the knowledge that their lights will be burning bright for just under six years.

"To quote my dad, the lights are 'stunning, magnificent'," according to Miss Williams.

This is yet another example of a commercial space - and not a vast one at that - seeing not only the aesthetic appeal of its business transformed but also the functional operations of it merely by installing a few new ceiling spotlights - targeted in a very specific way.
