Japan’s exports of hot rolled (HR) steel products totaled 1.2 million ton in April, falling by 13.1% from a month ago and rising by 22% year on year, according to data released by the Japan’s Ministry of Finance.
In April, the country’s exports of HR steel products to Korea totaled 312,991 tons, up by 4.5%; those to China were at 405,440 tons, increasing by 21.1% and those to Thailand were at 138,616 tons, decreasing by 16.9%, all compared to the figures in the same months of 2012.
In the first four months of this year, the country’s output of HR steel flat products amounted to 5.3 million tons, jumping by 23% year on year.
