The China Textile Industry Association recently organized a workshop in Beijing on zero-discharge of harmful chemicals (ZDHC).
At the workshop, China Textile Industry Association vice president Sun Rui Zhe spoke about environmental protection, product safety and sustainable development of the Chinese textile and apparel industry.
He said industry transformation and upgrading are important for achieving ZDHC, according to China Textile Economic Information.
He suggested that the Government and the industry chain should jointly put in various efforts, in step-by-step stages, for promoting environment and product safety and to achieve sustainable industrial development.
At the meeting, ZDHC representatives informed about the planned target of hazardous chemical releases by 2020.
Representatives of upstream and downstream supply chain companies shared their sustainable development experiences and practical results.
