Oman Cement Company has placed a$38m order with Danish engineering company FLSmidth for new milling equipment for a cement plant.
The new mill be the fifth to be be built at Oman Cement Co s HQ in the Rusayl Industrial Area,which is about 60km north of Port Sultan Qaboos in Muscat.
FLSmidth will supply a closed circuit ball mill capable of handling 150 tonnes of clinker per hour and two cement silos which will each have a capacity of 8,000 tonnes.
FLSmidth s group executive vice-president,Bjarne Moltke Hansen,said:"c growth in Oman has created a huge demand for cement.
"Oman Cement Company are already upgrading their existing production lines and now want to set up a fifth cement grinding unit.
"FLSmidth has a strong service capability and presence in the Gulf Cooperation Council(GCC)countries and therefore has good relations with the company."
