Carrier Transicold has announced its manufacturing facility in Athens,Ga.is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
"Athens has been a pivotal location for Carrier Transicold to maintain a sustainable manufacturing operation in the US,enabling Carrier Transicold to serve customers around the world,"said Tom Ondo,general manager,Carrier Transicold Truck/Trailer/Rail Americas."We've experienced sustained growth and productivity over the past 25 years,and the most important factor fuelling the exceptional performance is our highly skilled,dedicated employee family."
The company says its average employee at the facility has been with the company more than 12 years,with more than 80 employees calling the facility home for the entire 25 years of its existence.
Carrier Transicold was formed when Carrier acquired the California-based Transicold Co.in 1970.Truck and trailer refrigeration system manufacturing was relocated in 1988 to the present location in Athens.
Lately,the facility has focused on reducing its environmental footprint.It has reduced water usage by 33%,produces 44%less industrial process waste,has eliminated 69%of non-recycles waste and it has decreased its carbon footprint by 44%since 2006.
