Nintendo 3DS game to include exclusive metal toy and showcase new TV series.
The smash hit Beyblade property is spinning back to toy retail - and publisher Rising Star says Beyblade: Evolution is the 'perfect toy/game product'.
The collector’s edition of Nintendo 3DS video game Beyblade: Evolution will include an exclusive, six-piece Wing Pegasus 90WF toy previously unavailable outside of Japan.
Beyblade: Evolution lets players launch an in-game Beyblade to battle computer and human opponents. It also contains a sneak peek of upcoming TV series Beyblade: Shogun Steel, which airs worldwide in autumn and features a ‘revolutionary’ new toy line from Hasbro.
Rising Star Games is publishing the title, which is due to arrive at retail this autumn.
Yen Hau, product marketing manager at the firm, told ToyNews: “Toy retailers should seriously consider stocking Beyblade: Evolution as it is the perfect combination of video game and toy that they are looking for.
“The bundled edition comes with an exclusive toy that has an all-new two-part metal fusion wheel, ideal for the competitive collector, and it’s fully compatible with the new series of Beyblades.
“Over 150 million Beyblade toys have been sold worldwide and they consistently feature on major retailer top ten toy lists, making Beyblade one of the strongest toy lines on the market today.”
The game is licensed by d-rights, a representative of Nelvana Enterprises, and Rising Star has also partnered with Hasbro for the special edition.
A standard edition will also be available which doesn’t include the toy.
