The Average Aggregate Daily Crude Steel Output Is Down 0.5 Percent

On May 7, the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) announced that in mid-April (Apr. 11-20) this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China totaled 1.6891 million mt, down 0.5 percent compared to early April (Apr.1-10). Meanwhile, in mid-April, the average aggregate daily crude steel production of all steelmakers in China was estimated at 2.1158 million mt, indicating a decrease of 0.4 percent compared with early April.

According to the previous figures from the CISA, in early April the average aggregate daily crude steel production of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China totaled 1.6973 million mt, indicating a rise of 1.28 percent compared with late March (Mar. 21-31). In early April, the average aggregate daily crude steel production of all steelmakers in China was estimated at 2.1239 million mt, up 2.51 percent compared with late March.

As of April 20, aggregate finished steel inventory of large and medium-sized Chinese steel enterprises amounted to 13.6621 million mt, down 0.52 percent compared to April 10.
