LED packaging houses Lextar Electronics and Unity Opto Technology saw August consolidated revenues of NT$1.237 billion (US$41.2 million), down 6.28% on month, and NT$553 million, down 9.99%, respectively, according to the companies.
The sequential decreases were mainly due to shrinking demand for LED backlight units from China-based LCD TV vendors, the companies said.
Lextar's August consolidated revenues grew 28.2% on year, while Unity Opto's slipped 33.9%. Lextar's January-August consolidated revenues of NT$9.272 billion increased 38.55% on year. Unity Opto's eight-month revenues were NT$4.890 billion up 9.19%.
