Trade Resources Industry Views SRS EHR Technology is selected by Eye Health Services

SRS EHR Technology is selected by Eye Health Services

Eye Health Services has selected SRS's electronic health record (EHR) to streamline data capture.

Eye Health Services physician Lisa McHam said the centers' previous EHR made it very difficult for its ophthalmologists to productively document patient exams, with the number of clicks and the time required for each patient encounter.

"SRS is an EHR that we can actually use throughout our high-volume practice -- its design provides our physicians with flexibility that mimics our individual styles of practicing medicine," McHam added.

Eye Health Services physician John Mandeville said, "We want to participate in the meaningful use incentives program, but it was clear that we would never meet the requirements with our former EHR, given the need to capture data with what felt like a thousand extra clicks per exam."

SRS CEO Evan Steele said ophthalmology differs from other specialties in the way that physicians practice and document their exams, creating unique needs that are not well served by the typical EHR.

"With roots in ophthalmology, SRS has built a solid history of success in the specialty by removing the constraints inherent to other EHRs and building productivity and flexibility into the core of our technology," Steele added.
