Germany-based Heidelberg will install its Diana X 115 folding carton gluing machine at DS Smith Packaging Premium’s sheet plant in Cognac, France.
According to Heidelberg, the new machine combines a collapsible box module with a lockbottom module and enables quick changeovers from lockbottom to four-corner carton production.
Diana X 115 will be equipped with the new Diana Inspection Control module, which consists of a camera system to check folding carton quality and identifies the defective cartons prior to folding and gluing. The machine's ejector module located after the folding station removes the cartons from the machine at high speeds later on.
Heidelberg will offer two packing systems to choose from after the compression and delivery section, which include the Diana Packer for automated packing of straightline cartons and the FAS packing aid for lockbottom cartons, both of which ensure good productivity.
Diana X 115 ensures stable production, achieves far shorter makeready times when compared to previous machine generations and enables belt folding down to very small carton formats, even at high speeds.
