Mendix, the app platform company for the enterprise, has announced a partnership with Triumph Consultancy Services, a specialist life sciences consultancy that has been working for more than 12 years with biopharma, CRO, and medical device companies to enhance the quality, experience and value of clinical trials.
As a result of the agreement, Triumph is leveraging the Mendix App Platform to quickly deliver clinical trial optimization solutions that are intuitive, flexible, and responsive to both business and user requirements.
Triumph Consultancy Services focuses exclusively on improving clinical trials through the application of innovative business process, technology and change solutions.
Having seen the industry's frustration with off-the-shelf clinical systems that were difficult to customize and unwieldy for end users, Triumph evaluated ways to ensure their customers have access to clinical systems which meet the need of the end-to-end clinical trial process while offering intuitive, user-friendly interfaces.
To support this cause, Triumph partnered with Mendix and has been building a team skilled in the use of the Mendix App Platform.
Mendix has proven to be a quicker, more flexible, and more cost-effective way for Triumph to develop custom solutions for life sciences clients.
Mendix gives Triumph the flexibility to build point solutions where there are gaps in a client's process coverage or complete systems where a client has a key functional gap, or is looking to replace legacy systems.
Immediately validating Mendix's speed of delivery, a team of non-technical users built their first Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) module in just a week, compared to several weeks or months estimated for other custom development methods.
Specifically, Triumph saw three key benefits of adopting the Mendix platform:
- Flexibility - While the clinical trial process is often fairly consistent across companies, Triumph's approach ensures that the solution is tailored to each client's needs. With Mendix, the company can easily drive system design to their workflow and deliver exactly what the business needs.
- Integration - Clinical systems typically require extensive integration. The ability of the Mendix platform to easily integrate with any system or data source and make the right data available at each step in the clinical trial process was another important consideration.
- Speed - Using Mendix, Triumph can develop a proof of concept for a client quickly and inexpensively, and then easily adjust it based on user feedback or other business requirements - a true agile development approach.
Triumph CEO and founder Duncan Hall noted the life science industry is crying out for a better approach to clinical trials.
"We want to make the systems supporting clinical trials as intuitive and easy to use as the apps on your smartphone or tablet -- and our partnership with Mendix is a key enabler of this initiative. We believe that the speed, integration, and flexibility of the Mendix App Platform, combined with our deep industry expertise, will allow us to deliver powerful clinical trial optimization solutions at a fraction of the time and cost," Hall added.
