The facelifted Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-Model will arrive in Australia in October as a single sedan specification priced at $249,900, replacing both the entry and Performance Pack E63 models. Meanwhile the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Edition 507 also replaces the Performance Pack in the smaller compact rear-wheel-drive range, but the entry C63 AMG model is retained.
The Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-Model rear-wheel drive costs $8485 less than the old Performance Pack model, which produced 20kW less power. The new S-Model also adds a locking rear differential, auto-parking capability, and full-LED headlights over the previous performance edition’s specifications.
Mercedes-Benz Australia general manager of sales Richard Emery, says the decision to drop the entry E63 was because “most customers have opted for the Performance Pack”.
The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Edition 507 sedan is priced at $169,407, with the wagon and coupe adding $2000 and $3000 respectively. Unlike the E63 AMG, however, the standard C63 AMG with 336kW and 600Nm will be kept in the line-up.
From its tweaked 6.2-litre V8, the C63 AMG Edition 507 produces 373kW of power (or 507hp) and 610Nm of torque. Both figures are up compared with the outgoing Performance Pack, by 15kW and 10Nm.
The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Edition 507 borrows its bonnet from the C63 AMG Black Series, while dark-styled highlights and 19-inch alloy wheels round out the package fitted to the luxury German that will arrive in dealerships in August.
