The U.S.Consumer Product Safety Commission(CPSC),in cooperation with Harbor Freight Tools of Camarillo,Calif.,announced a voluntary recall of 19.2V cordless drills(model 96526),in which the trigger can overheat,posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.
The recall involves about 108,000 units(it is unknown how many,if any,made it to Canada).Harbor Freight Tools has received one report of a drill overheating and burning through the handle of the unit,resulting in a consumer receiving a minor injury.Made in China,the units were sold from April 2008 through May 2012.
Consumers should stop using the recalled drill immediately,remove the rechargeable battery and contact Harbor Freight Tools to receive a free replacement drill.
