Enhanced Retail Solutions (ERS), a top provider of solutions to suppliers of the retail industry for use in analyzing their products' retail sales and trends as well as improving inventory productivity just released a new feature to its Retail Analytic software.
This feature allows vendors and retailers to track customer demand based upon a product’s movement through a retail store’s shelf space. By adding custom tags recording a products placement over a given timeframe, users can track changes in demand based upon the items and upon seasonality. Users can also measure the effectiveness of promotions or advertising by quantifying the lift seen in the resulting sales. The tags allow retailers and vendors to view multiple frames in a cleaner view than normal reporting systems can provide. The feature also allows for a clear comparison of different test stores or grouping of stores.
According to Josh Coughlin, Enhanced Retail Solutions CTO, “This feature request came from a House wares client whose items move from In-line to Promotional and then back to In-line. Now they can easily track location of given items in the store and what impact that may have on the items' selling".
