The Momad Retail Forum will make up the know-how area at the new multi-sector fashion trade event, MOMAD METROPOLIS, the International Fashion Trade Show, which is organised by IFEMA and is due to take place between 6th and 8th September at Feria de Madrid.
The Momad Retail Forum has been created with the vocation of becoming a grand meeting-point and arena for debate for the industry.
Coinciding with the trade activity at the exhibition itself, the Forum enables a series of professional experts to share their knowledge and experience with trade visitors at the different conferences, roundtables and workshops that have been organised to this effect.
Some of the key questions to be tackled on this occasion include new technologies, electronic commerce as a tool for boosting business growth, the social media within the field of fashion, and the latest trends and directions within the market.
Reflections on the Future of Retailing
Hilario Alfaro, President of the Specialised Trade Confederation of the Madrid Region (COCEM), will be entrusted with opening the programme at the Forum with his reflections on the future of retailing on Friday 6th September at 12.30 p.m. In his presentation, Alfaro will focus on some of the key points that clothing and footwear professionals should take into account over the next few months in order to achieve success on the market.
On the same day, Isabel Mesa, the Head of the trends forecasting portal, Word Global Style Network (WGSN), will analyse the latest fashion and accessory trends for Spring/Summer 2014, focusing on the must-have clothing items and accessories for the new season. As a preview of her reflections on this topic, Isabel Mesa has predicted that personalised products will become increasingly popular over the next few months.
On Saturday 7th September, Carlos Sánchez and José Cantero Gómez, from M2M-Factoría de Innovación, will organise a somewhat surprising workshop in which visitors will be expected to interact in order to demonstrate how technology and sensations can both influence the purchasing process.
The Momad Retail Forum Roundtable will also take place on Saturday, focusing on the retail sector in Spain and the new forms of trade and consumer demand that have emerged in recent years. The Roundtable will feature the participation of Borja Oria, President of the Business Association for the Textile and Accessories Trade (ACOTEX), Hugo Mira, from El Armario de Lulu, and Francesco Malatesta, the Director of the Trade Show, MOMAD METROPOLIS.
For his part, during a session that is scheduled to take place on Saturday afternoon, Jaume Rosell, from BAOBAZ ESPAÑA, will analyse the importance of electronic commerce as tool for boosting a company's growth and international expansion.
Finally, on Sunday 8th September, the last day of this first staging of MOMAD METROPOLIS, the young blogger, Paula Ordovás, will focus on the key role that the social media play within the world of fashion.
Furthermore, on Sunday the journalist, Josefina Figueras, will present her book entitled "Historia de la Moda" ("The History of Fashion"), in which she leads us on a unique tour of Spanish fashion over the centuries and also offers us a preview of some of the basic considerations regarding the twenty-first century, including an analysis of the sociological and aesthetic phenomenon that is fashion.
