The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) has announced that in July this year the aggregate automobile output and sales in China totaled 1.5833 million vehicles and 1.5163 million vehicles respectively, both down slightly month on month and up 10.2 percent and 9.9 percent respectively on year-on-year basis.
In the given month, the total passenger car output in China amounted to 1.2988 million vehicles, down 4.7 percent month on month and up 9.6 percent year on year, while sales of passenger cars in China totaled 1.2376 million vehicles, up 10.5 percent on year-on-year basis and down 11.8 percent month on month.
Also in July this year, the aggregate commercial vehicle output in China totaled 284,500 vehicles, up 12.8 percent on year-on-year basis and down 8.7 percent month on month, while sales of commercial vehicles in China totaled 278,700 vehicles, up 7.5 percent on year-on-year basis and down 20.5 percent month on month.
In the first seven months of this year, aggregate automobile output in China reached 12.335 million vehicles, up 12.5 percent compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, in the given period, the overall automobile sales volume in the country rose by 12 percent year on year to 12.2986 million units.
In the given period, outputs of passenger cars and commercial vehicles in China totaled 9.9633 million units and 2.3717 million units respectively, up 13.4 percent and 8.6 percent, both year on year. Sales of passenger cars in the first seven months rose 13.4 percent year on year to 9.9028 million units, while sales of commercial vehicles increased 6.8 percent year on year to 2.3958 million units.
In the January-July period of the current year, China's total automobile exports reached 567,500 vehicles, down 2.2 percent compared to the same period last year, including 344,700 passenger cars and 222,800 commercial vehicles, down 2.2 percent and five percent respectively, both year on year.
In the January-July period of this year, China's aggregate automobile export value amounted to $37.139 billion, up 3.5 percent, while China's aggregate automobile import value in the given period totaled $37.417 billion, down 10.1 percent, both year on year.
