AIM, the industry association and worldwide authority on bar code, RFID, RTLS and mobile computing, congratulates long time member Charles (Chuck) Biss of GS1 Global Office for being selected to receive the Exceptional International Leadership Award given annually by INCITS (InterNational Committee for Information Technology Standards).
The award was presented by Philip Wenbloom, Director of Standards for Intel Corporation and current Chairman of the INCITS Executive Board, at the INCITS Symposium in San Antonio.
The INCITS Award for Exceptional International Leadership honors those who have demonstrated efforts which bring tangible results and significant achievements that further international standards. Recipients must also have shown continuous leadership through their INCITS service in maintaining a cooperative environment that promotes projects which open global markets.
“Chuck Biss has been an incredible visionary in the development of standards which have been implemented worldwide,” said Mary Lou Bosco, COO of AIM. “He has also been a dedicated advocate for AIM and our industry. We are truly excited to see him receive this much deserved international honor.”
A member of AIM for more than two decades, Mr. Biss has lent his expertise to the association as a past chair of the AIM Standards Committee as well as a member of the AIM Technical Symbology Committee (TSC). Additionally, he is a past recipient of the Richard R. Dilling Award, AIM’s highest honor for industry excellence.
