According to several articles (via GforGames)in the Korean media, the electronics giant wants to use a 14nm Exynos 7420 in the upcoming wearable.
The ‘Orbis’, some of you may remember, is a mystery Samsung smartwatch rumoured to carry a round screen. That’s in contrast to the company’s existing array of square-faced timepieces.
Apparently, Samsung wants to make use of the flagship smartphone chip to help improve power consumption.
While it might sound like an odd inclusion, a flagship smartphone chip built with a 14nm manufacturing process is extremely efficient, despite its enormous processing heft.
The reduced dimensions of the chip will help conserve energy, and Samsung will almost definitely under-clock it to help this further.
