Vietnam Suzuki, an automobile and motorcycle manufacturing and sales subsidiary of the Japan's Suzuki Motor, has begun the construction of a new $13m automobile plant southern Dong Nai Province.
The new facility will be used to manufacture new small-sized sedan in the future, in addition to the currently produced Carry Truck and Carry Van.
It will begin its operations next year with an initial production capacity of 5,000 units for the first year, and it is planned to enhance its capacity later.
Vietnam Suzuki had set up its first plant in Dong Nai's Binh Da Industrial Park in 1996 and in 2006 it had constructed a plant in Long Binh IP to make motorbikes, and is capable of manufacturing 80,000 units per year.
