The high performance of DuPont™ SentryGlas® polymer interlayer made it the most suitable material for the stations and platforms of Mexico City´s new Subway Golden Line 12.

The Golden Line runs from Tláhuac to Mixcoac, and uses approximately 25,000 m2 of SentryGlas®. Originally, a 1.52 mm thick PVB interlayer was the material they were going to use, but after comparing this with SentryGlas® 0.9 mm thick interlayer, they decided to use the latter, primarily because the thickness of the glass gave better safety performance, weight, stiffness and clarity. SentryGlas® was used in the platform and facades of the subway.

Carlos MacGregor, designer of all subway lines in Mexico City, commented:

"The excellent rigidity and safety performance of DuPont™ SentryGlas® convinced us that it was the most suitable material for protecting the passengers on this project."

This is reflective of DuPont´s commitment to working with business and governments to create a safer world for people to live in.
