An Upcoming International Event of Turkey-World Trade Bridge-2015 Being Held in Turkey

Faisalabad-based textile exporters were invited to participate in an upcoming international event of Turkey-World Trade Bridge-2015 being held in March 17-18, 2015 at Istanbul, Turkey.

The trade show is expected to offer Pakistani exporters of ready-made garments, textiles, home textiles, textile chemicals and machinery an opportunity to develop direct relations with international buyers.

Nida Yalmaiz, secretary general of the Pak-Turk Businessmen Association (PTBA) was in Faisalabad to set up an office of PTBA in the city.

The PTBA office is being setup to help Pakistani exporters enhance access to global markets already explored by the Turkish industry.

Nida Yalmaiz also visited Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) to ensure maximum participation of Faisalabad-based textile exporters in the upcoming trade show.

According to Yalmaiz, the event is not just an exhibition but a well-organised business promotion activity.

Yalmaiz said, more than 20,000 B2B meetings are expected to be held between textile importers and exporters from more than 130 countries across the world.

“Focus of PTBA is on enhancing Pakistani exports to Turkey in addition to facilitating exporters to enter global markets already explored by Turkish businessmen,” he added.

“Earlier, 25 per cent anti-dumping duty was levied on Pakistani textile exports to protect domestic industry of Turkey,” Yalmaiz informed.

“However, it is now being withdrawn paving way for enhanced textile exports from Pakistan to Turkey,” he told members of FCCI.

He also informed that PTBA was arranging a tour of businessmen to Kenya and Tanzania which will help Pakistani exporters to explore African markets.

Nida Yalmaiz will also be visiting Lahore to market the Turkey-World Trade Bridge-2015 to textile exporters in the city. (AR)
