New Portion Cutter Cuts Down Manual Handing and Delivers Increased Automation

Marel claims that its new portion cutter cuts down manual handing and delivers increased automation.

The Marel I-Cut 1000 machine offers speed, high yield portioning of a variety of meat products, reported Foodproductiondaily.com.

Marel sales director Martin Baldwin was quoted by the website as saying that the machine can cut individual portions automatically with much more ease than other portion cutters due to a product bed.

The company used the technology for deli slicing and developed it further, Baldwin added.

"That's really the crux of it. We have been able to further automate the processing of packs, spread slices and assemble them into the packs by machine," Baldwin was quoted as saying.

I-Cut 1000 can meet various production needs. It features several operational modes which can be programmed through the operator panel for yield optimisation to maximum and minimum slice thickness.

It can either be operated as a standalone equipment or can be integrated into manual, fixed or random weight production lines.

Marel offers equipment, systems and services to the fish, meat and poultry industries and has operations in over 30 countries across the world.
