On January 28, Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steelmaker Shagang Group commissioned its continuous pickling line unit No. 1, which is part of its 1,420 mm cold rolling project, as announced by Beijing-based state-owned China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC). Construction work on the project was carried out by MCC TianGong Group Shanghai Co., a subsidiary of MCC.
The project in question includes continuous pickling line units Nos. 1 and 2, with an overall cold rolled steel sheet output capacity of 2 million mt. In particular, the No. 1 unit can produce carbon steel and silicon steel sheet with thickness of 0.25 mm, while the No. 2 unit can produce carbon steel sheet of 0.18 mm thickness.
