General Motors relies on its new 'non compressed 3 wet paint process at Shenyang to completely remove the first paint layer, but will work with an oven for underbody coating and seam sealing.
Durr's EcoDryScrubber is used in the spray booths on both topcoat lines which neither requires fresh water nor coagulation chemicals without constant exchanging of booth air resulting in energy savings of 60% in the paint booth.
The company's 86 robots will perform interior and exterior painting in the topcoat area while EcoBell2 HD will be used for interior painting which provides material savings resulting in reduced operational cost.
SGM said that beginning in January 2014 a new car model will be painted in the plant with a capacity of 60 vehicles per hour.
