NJO Technology MD Annie Rawlinson with statue of Eric Morecambe by Morecambe Bay
The managing director of lighting company NJO Technology has danced her way through the London Marathon playing Bring Me Sunshine on her trumpet to the delight of crowds.
Annie Rawlinson is raising money for Samaritans' Lancaster and District branch, where she volunteers. She became inspired by the Bring Me Sunshine song of funnyman Eric Morecambe, who lived in the town of Morecambe which the charity's branch covers.
Rawlinson admits her race to the finish line involved a lot of huffing and puffing and was impeded by requests to stop and play to the crowds.
"I was playing my little trumpet so much. People started and singing and doing the Morecambe dance with me", she said.
Finishing the race in seven hours, nine minutes and 20 seconds, Rawlinson said: "It was an incredible experience. When everyone fell silent to remember the Boston Marathon victims, you could only hear the birds singing."
Annie Rawlinson has so far raised 2,025 for her charity thanks to contributions from lighting designers and other wellwishers, but she is currently just under 2,000 away from her target.
