New Zealand-based Lewis Road Creamery has introduced a new line of organic Jersey milks, which is free of palm kernel expeller and permeate.
Lewis Road Creamery Organic Jersey Milk is available in four flavors, including Non-Homogenised, Homogenised, Light and Calcium Enriched~Low Fat, reported scoop.co.nz.
It contains less water, less lactose, higher levels of beta-casein, more protein and higher levels of calcium over the more common Friesen cows.
The company is the first milk producer to separate pure organic Jersey milk, a product it sources from dedicated Jersey herds, according to the report.
Commenting on the launch, Lewis Road Creamery founder Peter Cullinane said that with the big players' focus on technology and volume, more emphasis seems to go into the packaging than the product inside.
"Our Jersey cows are raised on natural green pastures, meaning our product is more pure and natural - just the way a New Zealand milk should be," added Cullinane.
