Herboristerie La Clef Des Champs is recalling Clef Des Champs brand products as they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria,according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency(CFIA).
The products affected the recall are:Organic Ginger Ground root 200g;Organic Curry Spices Culinary Mix 35g,275g,and 500g;Organic Spice Cake Culinary mix 45g;and Organic Ginger Root powder 20kg.
These products have been distributed nationally.There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
Herboristerie La Clef Des Champs,based in Quebec,is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace,while the CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
Consumption of food contaminated with Salmonella may cause salmonellosis,a foodborne illness.In young children,the elderly and people with weakened immune systems,salmonellosis may cause serious and sometimes deadly infections.
