Digital inkjet printing systems manufacturer Colordyne Technologies has introduced retrofit solution with process color UV inkjet engine.
The 3600 Series UV – Retrofit is a compliment to the company's existing aqueous-based solutions.
It is powered by Colordyne’s print engine control software, which claims to be using latest UV inkjet imaging technology.
The 3600 Series UV - Retrofit offers an effective way to add process colour UV inkjet printing capabilities to existing converting equipment. Retrofitting can integrate digital print onto a variety of new and existing flexo press, web handling and converting systems. This techniques helps label and packaging converters a cost-effective path to hybrid printing while using current equipment.
Colordyne with its presence in aqueous inkjet market is now planning to leverage its knowledge into UV inkjet market.
The company developed the new 3600 Series UV print engine to tap the growing demand for digital four-colour process UV inkjet retrofit solutions. The new printer is claimed to have a similar footprint and integration method as Colordyne’s existing 3600 Series AQ – Retrofit, it also has the same front-end software and user interface.
The 3600 Series UV – Retrofit can print CMYK plus white up to 246 feet per minute or 75 meters per minute. The UV solution comes in 8.5 inch (216 mm) or 12.75 inch (324 mm) print width configurations and delivers a print resolution of 600 by 600 dpi.
It is claimed to be using vibrant UV curable inks designed for a wide range of self-adhesive and flexible packaging materials. These allow customers to use the printer in several applications across industrial, personal care, pharmaceutical, security, health and beauty, automotive, safety, chemical, food and beverage markets.
