US-based Orion Packaging has introduced its new AXIS stretch wrapping system to enhance pallet protection and security.
To provide a easy-to-use solution, the system unites the strengths of Orion's MA-DX and orbital, ring wrapping machines. It also allows multiple user-defined wrap patterns including combinations of roped film and flat webs to provide strength as well as pallet coverage.
According to the company, AXIS is equipped with its pre-stretch film delivery system called InstaThread, which elongates stretch film up to 260% prior to being wrapped on the load.
InstaThread is available with an ultra-sensitive corner compensation mechanism, which provides film tension around the entire load in a consistent manner.
The new system comprises PLC controller with a digital human machine interface, low-maintenance AC motors, and Category 2 safety systems. It handles loads up to 4,500 pounds and delivers up to 50-75 loads per hour.
The new stretch wrapping system will be showcased at Pack Expo in Las Vegas, which will be held between 23 to 25 September 2013.
