Xylem Lowara UK has announced the sponsorship of a one acre of rainforest in Bolivia as part of its annual Earth Day celebrations.
Xylem Lowara will sponsor the World Land Trust, which will fund the protection of one acre of Bolivian rainforest, and staff were also encouraged to wear green or blue clothing in celebration of the event.
The sponsorship, through Xylem Lowara?s Axminster facility, will help secure trees and wildlife in one of the world?s most vital yet threatened habitats. The sponsorship represents Xylem Lowara?s continued leadership in finding sustainable solutions for the Earth?s toughest environmental challenges.
Gary Wilde, Business Development and Marketing Manager for Xylem Lowara UK, said: ?Through continued support, it?s our aim to help preserve and protect one of our planet?s most biologically important nature reserves. It?s events like Earth Day that inspire our teams to actively consider the environmental impact of their actions and strive to design more efficient products and technologies. This will only help contribute to the conservation of one of the Earth?s most essential and elemental resources ? water.?
Earth Day is an annual celebration when events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. The event is staged in more than 192 countries each year.
