Shoppers Use PowaTag to Scan Special Tags and Buy Fashions From Comptoir Des Cotonniers

Shoppers can use PowaTag to scan special tags and buy the latest fashions from Comptoir des Cotonniers anytime, anywhere in single click. After an initial three-minute set up time, purchases can be completed in seconds, with home delivery within 48 hours.

Comptoir des Cotonniers, part of the one of the world’s fastest growing retail groups, Fast Retailing, worked with partners including leading outdoor advertising specialist JCDecaux, telecom company SFR Régie, transport app provider Uber, and advertising agency Marcel to create the boutiques overnight, which take the form of everything from posters and bus stops to transports, coffee tables, notebooks and tote bags.

The Fast Shopping campaign launched on 28 May by transforming the Publicis Drugstore at Champs Elysées in Paris into a boutique. Powa Tachnologies decided to host more than 100 representatives from partners and international press taking part in a walking tour of the virtual boutiques in the streets, before gathering for a launch event at the Intercontinental Paris.

Nancy Pedot, chief executive officer, Comptoir des Cotonniers and Princesse tam.tam, said: “As a leading fashion retailer, this is exactly the kind of innovation that we look for at Comptoir des Cotonniers utilizing technology to better meet the needs of our customers. We are proud to be partnering with Powa Technologies as we introduce the concept of ‘Fast Shopping’ and redefine what multi-channel means for the retail industry.”

Along with Comptoir des Cotonniers, PowaTag has partnered with more than 475 global brands and retailers, with hundreds more in progress. Several leading brands attended the global showcase.

Launched in March this year, PowaTag is the flagship product from Powa Technologies, a UK-based e-commerce startup. The company has signed up some 240 brands to the product so far including French-based supermarket giant Carrefour and Universal Music. Commercial deployments are rolling out gradually.

PowaTags will be appearing in print publications; on websites; and in stores in the forms of small codes alongside product displays. Powa also plans to add Beacons in retail locations and users will be able to get alerts in stores, via Bluetooth, for special details when passing by; while merchants can also be alerted to what the user likes when they enter a store.
