The Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance will feature a variety of technical presentations at its 2013 Annual Conference, February 5-8, 2013, at the Crowne Plaza Astor in New Orleans.
“The presentations this year keep attendees on the leading edge of our industry,” said Margaret Webb, IGMA executive director, in a release. “Especially important is the presentation by Chris Barry of Pilkington North America. Titled 'How to Calculate Glass and Sealant Stress in IGUs,' his presentation is an absolute must for anyone looking to understand how to design and test IGUs," she said.
Steve Selkowitz of Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory will offer a presentation on the development and testing of highly insulated, easy-to-install windows that use automated shading that can capture or repel heat depending on the season. Werner Wagner of Sika Germany will review European methods used to test IG gas loss and how they compare to those used in North America.
In addition, Guardian Industries' Tim Clancy will give a presentation titled "Use of 4th Surface Coatings in a Cold Climate."
“Many companies are beginning to utilize 4th surface coatings to maximize energy efficiency in IGUs. Guardian undertook an extensive third-party test program to understand the real-word factors that influence in-field performance and energy efficiency,” he explained.
