Jem-D International,a US-based provider of fresh vegetables,has employed AiroCide air sanitation system at its warehouse in Pharr,Texas.
The company is using the technology in collaboration with its partner,Agricola El Rosal,a Mexican greenhouse grower-shipper,reported thePacker.com.
The Airocide bioconversion system features tiny glass tubules,each nano-encrusted with refined,supercharged web of titanium dioxide.The technology converts damaging molds,microorganisms,dangerous pathogens,destructive VOCs and biological gasses into harmless water vapor without producing Ozone or other harmful byproducts.
Jem-D US director of operations Ernesto Sanabria said this system is being used as an integral part of the company's food safety initiative in the Pharr location
"The use of AiroCide reduces the potential contaminates and airborne pollutants that may negatively affect our produce,"Sanabria added.
