Philips Lighting has sold its Dijon site to the Nordeon Group for an undisclosed sum.
The sale will give the Nordeon Group a hub for logistics and customer services in Southern Europe, with staff there highly experienced in these areas. The site will operate under the name Nordeon Dijon.
Nordeon hopes the acquisition will strengthen its speciality lighting projects and installerdirect.com brand. Installerdirect.com is Nordeon's wholesale platform for lighting and associated products and will now have a strategic base in Southern Europe. In the area of speciality lighting, the acquisition of the site will enable Nordeon to expand its product range in this sector, for example producing lamps for extreme conditions such as cold weather.
The move follows Nordeon's acquisition of Hess in August. Nordeon was founded last October with the purchase of Philips' professional lighting site in Springe, Germany. The company grew with the acquisition of the Philips fluorescent lamp site in Chalon, France, and then Vulkan GmbH earlier this year.
