Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers Will Be Seeking out New Business Opportunities

At the upcoming CAITME-Central Asian International Textile Machinery Exhibition, to be held in Tashkent from 10 to 12 of September, Italian textile machinery manufacturers will be seeking out new business opportunities in a textile market of great interest over the medium term. ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, and the Italian Trade Agency have organized an Institutional Point at which four manufacturers will be present: Biancalani, Bonino, Ratti Luino and Stalam. These companies will be joined by other Italian exhibitors at the booths of corresponding local agents.

“Uzbekistan has a centuries old tradition in the production and processing of cotton,” states Raffaella Carabelli, President of ACIMIT, “ranking among the primary manufacturers and exporters of this raw material. In recent years, the local textile sector has initiated a deep-rooted restructuring in order to increase its production of locally produced cotton from 40% in 2012 to 70% by 2015.”

In 2013, Italian textile machinery manufacturers exported 4 million euros worth of goods to Uzbekistan. These sales mostly concerned spinning machinery (60% of the total) and weaving machinery (12%).

“Many of the current projects in Uzbekistan concern the construction of industrial complexes that require technologically advanced machinery,” concludes Raffaella Carabelli. “Visitors at CAITME will have an opportunity to ascertain the excellence of Italian technology.”
