LE Petit Society launched its online store has come up with a new baby collection

Hong Kong based children's fashion label, Le Petit Society, which launched its online store in January this year has come up with a new baby collection.

The company has created a line of clothing and accessories for children ranging in age from two to seven years, alongside a collection of baby clothing for newborn to 18 months. Drawing inspiration from Asian street style and European quality, Le Petit Society aims to be one of the first major players in the children's fashion industry to localise design, manufacturing, and distribution entirely within Asia.

Le Petit Society is the brain child of Robyn Liang and Dylan Ong, both Hong Kong-based Singaporean nationals.

"It didn't make sense to us that many popular children's apparel brands are made in Asia but yet cost so much money here. There are very few successful children's labels designed and made in Asia, and so we set out to create a brand that is current, chic, and fun," says Robyn Liang, Director and Co-Founder of Le Petit Society. Co-founder Dylan Ong adds, "Our longer term vision is for our brand to be synonymous with Asian kids fashion."

Luxury Style at an Accessible Price Point

Le Petit Society's garments are chic and sophisticated with a touch of whimsey. The company celebrates Asian street style and classic, European styling, which is reflected in vibrant pops of colour, and classic clean lines.

Robyn Liang, the lead designer for Le Petit Society, draws inspiration from her own closet, believing that children's wardrobes should be just as sophisticated as their parents'. Deliberately shying away from the cartoonish designs in pink and blues standard in the Asian children's apparel market, Le Petit Society uses bold colour combinations and playful prints to create clothing that appeals to the design sensibility of both children and parents.

For Le Petit Society, sophisticated design at an accessible price point is a key aspect of the company's business model. "We think that kids fashion, like adult fashion, should have its own colour trend that varies from season to season," says Liang.

Localising the design, manufacture and distribution processes entirely within Asia allows Le Petit Society to streamline production, and pass on the savings to the consumer.

Le Petit Society works exclusively with suppliers experienced in producing garments that meet American and European quality and safety standards. Still, the company is committed to bring garments to the market at an accessible price point, with most pieces in the collection below HKD 300 (USD 40).

Proudly Designed and Manufactured in Asia

Proud of their heritage and inspired by their travels across the vast continent, Liang and Ong are committed to producing their garments in Asia.

The company has recently partnered with suppliers in China despite the fact that the manufacturing giant is no longer a low-cost supplier of goods and labour. The maturation of the labour force in recent years means that China now produces higher quality goods, and many luxury brands are actively seeking out Chinese factories.

Le Petit Society followed suit. The company is dedicated to producing export quality goods for the Asian market. The company directors pursued manufacturing partners who had experience working with luxury quality European and American brands.

"One of our major suppliers works with several big French labels and that is primarily the reason we chose to work with the factory," says Liang.
