An $16m Investment Has Been Applied to Expand Us Facilities by Petoskey Plastics

Blown plastic film and bag manufacturer Petoskey Plastics is all set to invest$16m in a bid to expand three of its US facilities located in Hartford City,Indiana;Morristown,Tennessee;and Petoskey,Michigan.

The company will direct majority of the investment to the 300,000ft2 Hartford City recycling plant, which was opened in 2007.

According to Petoskey, the facility processes recycled plastic into pellets that are later on used in its blown film products, such as plastic sheeting and trash bags manufactured at the company's locations in Michigan and Tennessee.

In 2011,the company processed over 30 million pounds of post-consumer recycled plastic at the Hartford City plant, and is currently adding production lines and manpower to it that will enable it to manufacture its blown film products there.

The facility, which is expected to complete expansion by April 2013,will be fully integrated and is said to provide cost-effective bags and film to the marketplace, which are made with the lowest carbon footprint in North America.

Environmentally focused recycler,Petoskey Plastics manufactures plastic film, bags, resin and protective products.
