Folding cartons manufacturer in the US, Thoro Packaging has expanded its prepress department with the addition of an Insight Graphic Systems Die Co-Ordinator die registration system from Diversified Graphic Machinery (DGM).
The Die Co-Ordinator from print enhancement equipment manufacturer DGM works with Thoro Packaging's foil stamping and embossing presses to cut down overall set up times by over 50%.
The system requires no modification to presses, honeycombs, dies or hooks and digitally locks up foil stamping and/or embossing dies from digital print file onto the honeycomb.
According to DGM, it calculates for heat expansion of all die types & board stretch and is used in the cosmetic packaging, greeting card, book component, label, tobacco, wine & spirits industries.
The user-friendly Die Co-Ordinator has the capacity to store various honeycomb sizes and types, can lock up various press sizes from small presses up to 60" presses and has the ability to scan the printed sheet, the company said.
