Nestle Has Added a Limited Edition White Chocolate Variant to Its Kit Kat Chunky Brand

Nestle has added a limited edition white chocolate variant to its Kit Kat Chunky brand in the UK.

Available from 17 September, Kit Kat Chunky White is being launched as a result of a campaign by the confectioner for consumers to choose from four limited-edition variants. A peanut butter line won the contest but Nestle said the white chocolate bar was the "fastest-selling" of the four products in some retailers.

The launch, Nestle said today (11 September), comes on the back of a successful year for the Kit Kat Chunky brand with sales up 12.7% in the 12 months to the end of August.

The bar will have an RRP of GBP0.56 (US$0.90).

NESTLÉ CONFECTIONERY LAUNCHES KIT KAT CHUNKY WHITE Nestlé Confectionery is set to bring back its white chocolate version of KIT KAT Chunky for a limited period only.

Available from 17th September KIT KAT Chunky White has an RRP of 56p.

The bar proved a smash hit with consumers earlier this year in the company's Choose a Chunky Champion campaign. The campaign gave consumers the chance to vote which of four limited edition KIT KAT Chunky flavours was their favourite, with the winner becoming a permanent addition to the range. Whilst Peanut Butter was the ultimate winner, the white chocolate KIT KAT Chunky sold over 1 million bars1 and was actually the fastest selling of the flavours in some retailers. It received 30% of over half a million votes cast, with many fans declaring their love for it on Facebook and other online forums.

What's more, as the only white chocolate hunger confectionery product on the market, it offers consumers something totally different and in particular has strong consumer appeal with young men.

Nestlé UK Trade Communications Manager Graham Walker says: "With many consumers already fans of KIT KAT Chunky White, this is a great opportunity for retailers to capitalise on their desire to buy the product when it becomes available in September. To maximise sales be sure to display it in a high traffic area where shoppers can't miss it."

The launch comes on the back of a successful year for the KIT KAT Chunky brand with sales up 12.7%2.
