Korea-based auto parts supplier Hyundai MOBIS has begun production at its Conventional Brake Systems (CBS) plant in Slovakia.
The plant built on the module plant site covers an area of 3,170m2 with production capacity of 600,000 CBS parts per year.
The plant will produce auto parts such as calipers, drum brakes, boosters and masters and parking brakes, chassis modules with engines, cockpit modules, FEM modules and bumpers, reported autoevolution.com.
MOBIS head of parts manufacturing division Kim Cheolsoo said: "We will secure prompt quality-response times and flexibility in production so that, consequently, we are able to strengthen our competitiveness through the localization of complete automobile production."
CBS is a fluid pressure controlling device used in the advanced anti-lock brake system and electronic stability control which is to be supplied by the company to Hyundai Motors and Kia Motors plants in Europe.
Made up of a booster & master, caliper and parking brake, CBS is fitted to automobiles by default to decelerate or stop a running vehicle.
The company expects to increase the competitiveness of its parent brands, while getting orders from European automobile makers like Volkswagen, BMW and Renault.
