Honda Cars India has launched the automatic transmission version of its small car Brio.
The carmaker also introduced a new variant of the manual transmission version.
Honda claims that Brio is the first car in its segment to be equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission.
The Brio automatic transmission version, which has three modes namely, D1, D2 and D3, comes with a four-cylinder 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that delivers maximum output of 88 PS at 6000 rpm and Torque of 109 Nm at 4500 rpm.
Honda Cars India senior VP of sales & marketing Jnaneswar Sen said that automatic transmissions are gaining popularity in hatchback segment due to our stop-go traffic.
"Our dealer and customer voice indicated that there is a good potential for automatic in the Brio segment," Sen said.
