Cummins Has Produced 1.5 Million Engines at Its Jamestown Engine Plant

Cummins has hit a significant milestone, having produced 1.5 million engines at its Jamestown engine plant.

The plant was built in 1974, and is currently one of the top five heavy-duty diesel engine producers in the world, building about 100,000 engines per year. It accounted for 12% of Cummins engines produced in 2012.

Cummins executives and employees celebrated production of the 1.5 millionth engine today.

"Cummins has remained the leader in the heavy-duty North American truck market by consistently delivering engines with better fuel economy, reliability and durability. We credit much of our success to the hard-working employees that commit themselves every day to provide products and service that meet or exceed our customer expectations," said plant manager, Mike Abbate.
