Toray Industries Inc has received two separate orders to supply reverse osmosis (RO) membranes to seawater desalination plants in Al Zawra and Ghalilah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Al Zawra plant is an 45 000 m3/d RO seawater desalination facility in the Emirate of Ajman. The plant is being built by Spain’s Cadaqua SA for UAE’s Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA). The 68 000 m3/d Ghalilah RO seawater desalination plant in the Emirate of Ra’s al Khaymah is also owned by FEWA. Aquatech Eastern is undertaking plant construction.
