Kobrick Coffee Has Gone in for a Rebranding Exercise

Kobrick Coffee has gone in for a rebranding exercise which was carried out by brand design agency Sandstrom Partners.

Besides producing a new identity, Sandstrom also developed packaging for more than 30 specialty blends, espressos and single-origin coffees, according to Packaging Digest.

To complement the line, a line of signature cups was designed.

Sandstrom president Jack Peterson said the Kobrick family has been selling roasting coffee through some of the most respected chefs and five-star restaurants in New York without ever having a consumer-facing brand.

"Our assignment was to respect that heritage of proprietary quality while bringing the brand to a new, discerning coffee-drinking public," said Peterson.

A hand-applied blend label is featured on a 1-lb bag on the front panel, with the brand story on the right gusset.

The founder's signature is found on the left gusset, and notes on quality and brewing instructions feature on the back.
