Celik-Union's Request for a 42 Percent Pay Rise

According to Turkey's Dogan News Agency, the collective labor agreement negotiations going on since January at Turkish long steel producer Kardemir have been concluded. After a meeting with Kardemir, Celik-Union's request for a 42 percent pay rise has been accepted and the agreement will be signed on Friday.

Last week, Cengiz Gül, head of Celik-Union, announced that the union had decided to go on strike at Kardemir as of May 8, as collective labor agreement negotiations involving 3,000 workers remained unresolved.
