LSG Sky Chefs, an establishment based in Orlando, Florida, is recalling approximately 735 pounds of ready-to-eat chipotle chicken wrap products over Listeria monocytogenes contamination, according to the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The salads are being withdrawn as they contain diced onions, which are subject to a recall by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
The product subject to recall, 6.9oz. packages of RaceTrac Chipotle Chicken Wrap, bears establishment number 'P-19682' inside the USDA mark of inspection, and Sell Thru date 27-31 July 2012.
These products were produced between 22 July 2012, and 26 July 2012, and were distributed to retail establishments in Florida.
FSIS noted that the problem was identified after the company informed the agency that diced onions subject to an FDA recall were contained in the pico de gallo used in the chicken wraps . FSIS, FDA and the company have not received any reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
This recall has been classified as Class I, which indicates a health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.
