Demand for blockboard has improved a little again since the end of July, following rather subdued business in the weeks before. Manufacturers reported a slightly better demand from industrial clients again, in particular. Demand from trade clients has also picked up a little. In the trade business demand had slowed down in April and May and subsequently stabilised on that lower level. As such, business with traders was relatively sluggish through June. Business with industrial clients was relatively stable through June and then slowed down a little in July, before picking up again in August. Generally speaking, sales have fallen short of the expectations during the summer months, according to most industry insiders.
