Hot Butter Studio has created an infographic about the iconic LEGO Minifigure.
It charts the history of the toy from the release of the first Minifigure pre-cursors (the Maxifig in 1974 and the arm-less minifig of 1975) through to the launch of the first 'modern' Minifigure in 1978 - a design which remains largely unchanged to this day.
Other interesting facts include the introduction of different skin tones in 2003, which arrived as part of a basketball set, and the first 'specialised limbs', which were a peg leg and hook hand on a pirate model in 1989.
