Westell Technologies, a provider of telecommunications equipment for wireline, wireless and home networks, has acquired Kentrox, a player in intelligent site management solutions. The transaction closed on April 1, 2013. "Kentrox is a perfect fit with our growth strategy," said Rick Gilbert, chair and CEO of Westell. Kentrox offers a range of monitoring, management and control equipment for remote sites, such as cell sites and towers. Its solutions aim to help network operators and service providers reduce costs while improving network performance and security.
